We have received the following update following the Council Area Committee Meeting on 7 October 2015:

There has been significant progress on the Broadmeadow Way project since last reporting to the elected representatives. The Council is currently reviewing the Environmental Impact Statement for this proposal. When all the documentation is complete and ready to lodge with An Bord Pleanála, the Council plans to bring a presentation to this Area Committee Meeting. Council staff continue engaging with affected landowners to purchase land and to agree accommodation works.

Irish Rail continues to work closely with us on this project. In parallel they have made progress in addressing environmental/legal issues pertaining to the railway causeway across the estuary. The Council continues to seek likely funding sources with a view to moving the project towards implementation stage.
