Panda is currently contracted to maintain a wheeled bin refuse collection service in Malahide and Fingal County Council has Recycling Centres at Mantua Road, Swords (under the M1 viaduct), and in Coolmine Industrial Estate, Dublin 15. Swords opening hours are Monday to Friday 8am to 8pm and Saturday from 8am to 6pm. The recycling centre is closed on Bank Holidays and Sundays, and sometimes has to close at short notice due to bad weather for health and safety reasons.
FCC also operates a construction/demolition waste recycling facility and provides recycling bring banks throughout the county. Bring banks in Malahide are located at Malahide beach car park, Malahide Bridge Club, Malahide Castle car park. Environmental Charge
Fingal County Council has, since 2002, operated a bin tag environmental charge. The current cost for bin collection by Panda is €8.75 for a standard 240L grey/black bin and €4.35 for a 120L bin in addition to an annual service charge of €110. At time of writing, green recycling bins are collected subject to a small charge, and brown compost bins are collected fortnightly at no charge. Please consult Panda.ie for up to date information.
Recycling facilities at Mantua Road and Coolmine accept the following: Green, brown & clear glass, aluminium cans, newspapers and magazines, plastics, car batteries, clothes, white electrical goods WEEE (e.g. fridges), wood and cardboard.
