Beware of low flying planes!

A geological survey, the Tellus survey, is due to start across Ireland in June and will collect the latest data on rocks, soil and water over the summer. It will provide vital data to help manage Ireland’s environment and natural resources. As part of the survey you may become aware of low flying planes over parts of Fingal at heights of between 60m to 240m. To find out more about the survey, visit Fingal County Council’s site here.

Water Outage to Part of Malahide

Water is off to Malahide Village and surrounds as a result of a burst on Church Road.  It was expected to have water back by 4pm, however complications arose during these repairs and this has now extended the time of water back to consumers until 6pm approximately.

FCC apologises to consumers affected by this longer than expected disruption to service.

Additional Trial 142 Bus

Dublin Bus is trialling an additional 142 evening peak bus service. This trial service departs at 5.50 pm from Eden Quay (bus stop 299 on the RTPI system). However it is not on the RTPI system or on the timetable so while this additional service is most welcome, the Forum is concerned that passengers will not be aware of it and Dublin Bus may then cancel this service.

We would ask that users of the 142 bus service be aware of this additional bus and alert other users to promote uptake.  This additional service does fill a long (30 minute) gap in the official 142 timetable and should reduce overcrowding on the final 142 bus.

Honorary Secretary Wanted for Malahide Community Forum

Malahide Community Forum is looking for a new Honorary Secretary.  Enthusiasm is the main qualification but typing skills, recording our monthly meetings and familiarity with emails and Internet would be necessary.  The role is interesting and varied and you would be the main contact for the Forum, although many queries will be passed on to our Planning, Environment or Transport subcommittees, as appropriate.  The work involved normally takes a couple of hours per week with extra input on occasions.

If you are interested please contact me, the current Hon. Sec., Margaret Cure, at curegmw@gmail.com  or on 01 8452142, and I will answer any questions you may have and would also be more than happy to help a new candidate settle into the role.
