Burst Watermain in Malahide

FCC advises that there is a burst watermain affecting the water supply in the Malahide area.  The areas listed below will have no water until repairs have been completed at approximately 3pm today:

Malahide Village, The Hill, Kinsealy Lane, Back Road, St. Margaret’s Road, Grove Road, St. Andrew’s Grove and surrounding areas.

Water Cut Off in Malahide on Monday 26 January

Fingal County Council advises that to facilitate the insertion of a valve on the network to supply sufficient water supply to residents in an area of Malahide currently with low pressure due to a burst, it will be necessary to shut water off to the following areas between 11am and 3pm on Monday 26 January.  This will affect:

Malahide Village, The Hill of Malahide, Kinsealy Lane, St Margarets, St Andrews, Grove Road, Church Road, Back Road , The Mall and surrounds.

FCC apologises to everyone who will be affected by this disruption.

Water off to part of Malahide Tuesday 20 January

Fingal County Council advises of a water outage as follows:

We are aware of a bad water leak at the entrance to Lissadell Woods Estate on the Swords/Malahide Road.    A crew will be out at approximately 9.30am, Tuesday 20th January to commence repairs.   Water is expected to be shut off at 11am to facilitate the repair and turned back on to the area by 3pm.

Areas affected by the water outage:  Residents along the Swords/Malahide Road, Seabury, Lissadell Woods and surrounds.

Cones have been erected around the area of the water spillage with signage indicating there is leakage in that vicinity.

Speed Limit Consultation by FCC before 22 January 2015

Control of Vehicle Speeds in Residential Areas

As part of a review of vehicle speeds in housing estates, Fingal County Council wishes to engage with interested parties in a non-statutory consultation process.  Members of the public are invited to make submissions to the Council regarding the adequacy or otherwise of existing speed limits in their area.

In order to ensure that housing estate roads are as safe as possible for pedestrians, cyclists and especially children, the Council would particularly welcome submissions in relation to the possible introduction of a 30km/h speed limit in residential areas.

Fry Model Railway and Casino

We have received the excellent news that Fingal County Council completed the purchase of the Fry Model Railway yesterday, 23 December, and the purchase of The Casino house was expected to be completed also either yesterday or today.  Great news for Malahide!

Closure of New Street on Tuesday 2 September

Fingal County Council advises as follows:

Closure of New St, Malahide on Tuesday 2nd September

New Street, Malahide will be closed to traffic on Tuesday 2nd September from 9am until approximately 4pm that day.  The Street closure is necessary to facilitate the repair of the watermain in this area.

Alternative access via Bissets Strand, Old St, Townyard Lane and James Tce. Local access will be possible to New Street from Bissets Strand.

We apologise to users of this street for any inconvenience caused.
