Traffic in Malahide.
Residents have been reporting that driving around and accessing Malahide village is getting more difficult.
We would like to hear from you if you agree and why you think it is?
Have you any ideas for improvement we could share with the Council and Councillors?

we should ban parking on the main streets to everyone but residents and provide a shuttle bus to the big carparks
Absolutely, but it has been getting worse year on year without anything really being done about it. People from other parts of Dublin complain about how difficult it is to get here – what is happening about expansion of public transport/shuttle options?
Two small construction projects at junctions by the council have exacerbated the traffic flow problem. Puzzling!
The access to the Train Station is not wide enough for two way traffic and at peak times is holding up the traffic a lot. Why cannot this be made one way system, in the front and out the back.
IMO, Malahide traffic is deteriorating due to an increasing in housing, young people living at home now car owners, an unreliable bus service therefore more residents reverting to car usage where buses fail to turn up and for many who work early shifts, public transport will not have them on time for work, plus New Street being closed has resulted in ongoing queuing traffic on Main Street and the Mall, where priority is given to cars exiting James’ Terrace. Parking appears to be greatly reduced with new taxi rank on both sides of the Diamond so those wanting to shop in the village circulate over and over again seeking a parking space.
